On September 8th, 2022, we took to the city by the bay for our very first in-person event: CMO Summit: San Francisco! It was a great day, packed with speakers, and we were thrilled to finally meet up with members of the CMO Alliance community in the flesh for the first time.

We caught up with one of the guests, Austin Beveridge, Head of Marketing for Arc Technologies, to get his thoughts on the event.

Hi Austin, why did you choose to attend the CMO Summit: San Francisco? Was there anything special about it, setting it apart from others, that made it the right choice for you?

Connecting with like-minded marketing peers in the startup community has been challenging, especially since the relocation that took place in ‘20/21. The “meet-up” groups that used to span a few nights each week are virtually non-existent and the dinners I used to attend are also few and far between.

When I heard about the CMO summit, I knew I had to go. Having the opportunity to meet with peers across different industries and verticals in a centralized location where we could share best practices, tips, challenges, and brainstorm together was something I couldn’t miss.

The one thing that really stood out while attending the event was the quality of the content. It was engaging, action-oriented, and inspiring—all at the same time.

Hats off to the whole team for pulling off such a great event!

Were there any particular events in the day that you enjoyed the most or found the most valuable?

The best session of the day was bar-none “Marketing in a Product-Led World” led by Noa Elan, the Head of Marketing at Bubbles. It was extremely informative, it was relevant and it was actionable—all must-haves in the event world! Keep crushing it Noa!

Was there anything about the event that set it apart from similar events you’ve been to in the past?

In the startup world, time and execution are two of your largest competitive advantages. As a marketing leader, the things you need most are: access to data, insights, and actionable strategies to implement. The content from the CMO summit provided all of the above.

Presenters shared data on how & where the industry was at today, insights based on the data e.g. what they were seeing, and the strategies that they were leveraging to position themselves for success. They provided a “four-step playbook” for other marketing leaders to follow, and that’s what I appreciated the most.

Would you recommend attending a CMO Alliance event to your peers?

If you're a marketing leader who's looking for actionable tips and strategies from industry practitioners, and you're looking to connect with peers, the CMO Summit is the must-attend event of the year.

Would you be interested in attending another CMO Alliance event in the future?

Absolutely! It was a ton of fun, and there were a lot of great learnings that I have since implemented in our GTM organization.

What was your favorite part of the day?

Honestly, I enjoyed the whole day. Check-in was seamless, the speakers were great, the expo hall was nice, and the food was good too!

Thanks, Austin!
